Drew is a fireman who loves the rush of his job, and is looking for a roommate to share costs. Scott is a doctor looking for somewhere to live that doesn't leave him rooming with his now ex-lover. The match seems more than perfect when Scott moves in with Drew. It's more than just costs that they share. They find it hard to resist getting to know each other in the most intimate way, and soon things are heating up enough to make even Drew wonder if they can handle the fire. So what happens when along comes EMT Eric with his blond good looks and boyish smile? He seems like the perfect match for Drew and Scott, but just Eric moving in is not all they have to deal with. Between family strife and physical injuries, the three of them have to face problems that could tear them apart, and ruin more than just their life together, including their careers and their health. Will this twosome be able to become a threesome or does it spell disaster for all? 911 is full of everything you'd expect from this author; strongly drawn characters, vulnerable sometimes, but never weak, sizzling-hot sex and fascinating exploration of an unconventional, deeply loving relationship.

911 edition by Chris Owen Literature Fiction eBooks

While I’m not a big fan of ménage, this one I enjoyed. It starts with Scott who’s looking to rent a place close to work. He’s an ER doctor who still has a hectic year and a half of residency left which means his work schedule is all over the place. He meets Drew, a fireman when he’s brought into the ER after being exposed to a hazardous substance. Drew needs a ride home, Scott offers, and as they get to talking Scott’s problem is solved, he moves in with Drew.

Now this is not a story of insta-love. It takes months before they hook up but when they do, WHAM. The heat is intense. While their relationship is satisfying they do talk about bringing a third person into it because both of their work schedules are do different that they have hardly any time together. They think this third person could fill the lonely hours but they realize to make it work there can be no jealousy and it can’t be just for fun and games. This third person has to be someone they both love.

One night at one of their regular Thursday night poker games they are introduced to a new player, Eric, an EMT. He fits the bill. He needs a place to stay and a roommate to make ends meet. He moves in but again, it’s not insta-love. But it happens. And it works. And again lots and lots of HEAT.

There is some drama after Eric moves in that doesn’t involve jealousy but it adds a depth to the plot that I appreciated as it gives this story more than just hot sex. It also added another star to my rating.

911 edition by Chris Owen Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This was a well done story, first focusing on the development of Drew and Scott's relationship and then adding Eric as their third. I liked being able to see the men over the years facing issues such as family and the difficulties of the intense jobs they all work while trying to manage what most others look at as an unconventional arrangement, while some of them are still in the closet at work.

The drama felt real and the sex was hot. Each of the three men had individual issues to deal with but the story never got bogged down or overly dramatic. Definitely a good read for menage and men in uniform fans.
I did enjoy this fun romp. The three of them reminded me of a basket full of puppies, all cute, cuddly, and lovey. But I can t help but think this story is really about the house bringing together the three men. First Drew buys the house, then needs to rent a room to help with expenses. In moves Scott and they fall in love. Then a new friend, Eric, needs a place to live, he moves in, and they fall in love. The threesome begins. Then, to top it all off, all of the action love scenes take place in the house.... And we are talking about a lot of those scenes!

Rating 9/10

Pros
- 3 strong characters who were each so wonderful in their own ways that I had a very hard time picking a favorite. I did, but it took some serious thought.
- Likeable, fully drawn secondary characters.
- Awesome depiction of a threeway relationship that made me believe that the three of them were meant to be together and not just that the two who happened to meet first were kind enough to let the third guy play around with them every now and then. Owen does an excellent job of showing each man's love for each of the other two.
- The sex. Oh, the sex. Hot, loving, plentiful, fantastic. One scene toward the very end is so cheesy and romantic that I thought I might vomit...not because I disliked it, but because I want that.

Cons
- Editing issues typical of the genre. (Not as bad here as in other books.)
- Periods of emotional pain and angst that were difficult to read. However, they're mercifully short (shorter than in Owen's Bareback, anyway), and they're realistic. While gritting my way through one particularly sad scene, I kept congratulating Owen for taking a realistic approach to the characters' situation.

Overall comments Loved it. Even if you're wary of ménage a trois relationships, this book might change your opinion about them. It did so to mine.
I bought this book looking for sex scenes and I found a lot of it and I enjoyed it because the scenes were well written and there was a variety of it. What made me like the book even more was that the whole of the story took place over the course of at least 3 years. There was a chance for Drew and Scott to really develop a relationship living together, supporting each other in their tough jobs with their weird shifts and in dealing with their parents, enhancing each other's lives before Eric is even on the radar. I also liked that the three men didn't rush into the three-way relationship. When it did happen it felt natural and I was glad that we got to see Eric relating to Drew and Scott separately, as well as Drew and Scott staying close and strong. There was a lot going on beyond the sex scenes, so much that I felt the book could have been longer and it would have been okay. I just liked spending time with them in their world.
This is the third time I have read this engrossing ménage love story and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time.
These guys were meant to be together. They fit so perfectly. They had their growing pains but learned that communication was the key to greater happiness with each other.
Each man had a stressful job. It was fortunate for them that they were in related fields. This gave them an innate understanding of what each of them faced in their jobs every day so there wasn't the angst or resulting anger of seeming to put the job first over their personal lives together. A definite win.
This was a well written story I've enjoyed reading numerous times and will undoubtedly read again.
